
Pair of Early 19th-Century Blacksmith-Made Antique Wrought Iron Chandeliers - Approximately 80 cm (31 1/2") Drop
A large and rare pair of blacksmith-made 19th-century antique wrought iron chandeliers.
French origin.
Each with a hanging hook, twisted stem, and two pairs of splayed arms of graduated length, the first pair of shorter form again with twisted stems, with decorative leaf-shaped terminals and decorative drops, also in the form of leaves. The lower set of splayed arms are of longer length and again twisted. These terminate at either end with a rolled candle socket, each with an ejection aperture over a circular drip pan. The lower arms of both chandeliers are decorated below with three decorative drops, again in the form of leaves.
Provenance - unknown.
Condition - Please refer to the images. There is surface oxidation to the iron commensurate with age. These have real presence with there decorative appearance and also very functional too. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
