Late 16th Century Antique Brass Candlestick Of Large Proportions

A late 16th-century antique brass candlestick of large proportions.

It is made in two parts, with a slightly flared candle socket over a double knopped stem, and is supported overall on a raised circular foot. The stem detaches from the base and connects to it via a hand-made screw thread.

Provenance: Continental. 16th century.

Condition: Please refer to the images. There is surface wear commensurate with age. Part of the rim of the sconce has a very minor loss. The surface of the metal overall has been allowed to oxidize. A detailed condition report is available upon request.

Dimensions: Height 21 cm (8 1/4")

A commanding relic of 16th-century craftsmanship — for those who seek not just light, but legacy.
