
19th Century English Antique Brass Plaque Engraved With Saint George Slaying The Dragon
A 19th Century English antique brass plaque of square form.
One side is engraved with an image of Saint George slaying the Dragon. The other side, verso, is engraved with a Celtic-type knot, the upper section inscribed in part with an unfinished Lords Prayer and the centre inscribed "The Proper Study of Mankind is Man".
This is a charming decorative item.
Condition - As per the images. There is some unevenness to the sheet metal and some oxidation to the brass is evident which is commensurate with age. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
