Large 18th Century English Antique Treen Master Salt
An 18th Century antique treen master salt of large size formed from three pieces of oak.
Used for containing salt at the dining table.
English origin.
Turned on a pole lathe. The outer surface of the bowl is heavily carved with stylised acanthus leaves. Supported overall on a raised circular foot.
Good colour and patination.
Condition - as per the images. Good overall. Surface wear is commensurate with age. There has been a naive repair to the rim of the bowl (see images). The salt does however display very well. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
