A 16th-century carved lime wood bust of a male Saint.
Italian origin. Life-size.
The timber is covered in a thin layer of gesso with brown over-paint.
Condition - as per the images. There is age-related surface wear and losses to the paint and gesso layer. There are traces of old worm but this is long since gone and has been treated too as a precautionary measure. The carving displays very well.
