Large, Elongated, 18th Century Two-Sided Dutch Antique Carved Oak Gingerbread Mould Or Biscuit Mould
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A PAIR OF GINGERBREAD MOULDS. IT IS A SINGLE, TWO-SIDED, MOULD. THE FIRST IMAGE OF THIS ITEM HAS BEEN EDITED AND SPLICED TOGETHER FOR ADVERTISING AND INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY.
We offer for sale a large, elongated, delightful, and decorative 18th-century Dutch antique folk-art carved oak, double-sided, gingerbread mould.
One side portrays a female figure, standing full-length. Verso, the other side portrays a male figure also standing full-length. Both are wearing period attire.
The mould's surface has built up a lovely time-worn patina.
This would look good in any period home or contemporary setting.
Provenance - Ex-Dutch private collection.
Condition - Good overall. Please see the images. There is a very minor age-related split to the timber at the top; however, this is stable, hardly noticeable and does not detract from this period piece of kitchenalia, which still displays well. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
Size - Height 55 cm x Width 14.5 cm x Depth 3 cm (21 3/4" x 5 3/4" x 1 1/8")
